The Wailing Wall

The artwork titled The Wailing Wall is a painting created in 1880. It is currently held at the Israel Museum. The painting, measuring 0.73 meters in height and 0.595 meters in width, is the work of Jean-Léon Gérôme.

The painting depicts a solitary man standing before the Western Wall in Jerusalem. He is dressed in a black hat and a long green coat, holding a book in his hands as he gazes upon the ancient stones.
