The Dream of Happiness

The Dream of Happiness is a large painting by the French painter Constance Mayer around 1819. This oil on canvas depicts a couple and their child led by boat by Love and Fortune. The work is kept at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The sketches of Constance Mayer have been little preserved (we know a drawing of a similar subject, cf. Bazin), unlike the many preparatory works of Pierre-Paul Prud'hon who participated in the construction of the painting.
