Portrait of an unknown person is a portrait of Taras Shevchenko's work made by him on watercolor on Bristol cardboard in St. Petersburg. On the back of the bottom pencil the inscription: Figure T. Shevchenko[o]. It dates on the basis of comparison with watercolor portraits of Shevchenko in 1837-1838. Size 23.7 × 17.6.

The painting is stored in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko. Previous places of preservation: collection of S. Botkin, State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Taras Shevchenko Institute (Kharkiv), Gallery of paintings by Taras Shevchenko.
