Obusuma Saburo emaki

The Illustrated Scroll of Obusuma Saburō (男衾三郎絵巻, Obusuma Saburō ekotoba) is an emaki dating from the Kamakura period. This illuminated scroll classified as an important cultural asset tells a popular story mixing romance, tragedy and battle. However, it has come to us in a fragmentary state, the continuation and end of the emaki being lost.
