Saint Jerome

Saint Jerome is among the finest paintings of Master Theodoric in the Chapel of St. Crosses at Karlštejn. It has a place of honour in the hierarchy of the Holy Fathers, and its portrait is placed in the south window alcove of the chapel along with St. Augustine, Vol. Ambroch and St. Gregory. It is one of the oldest and most often reproduced depictions of St. Jerome.
