Phaedra and Hippolytus

Fedra and Hippolyte (Phèdre et Hippolyte in French) are two works by Guérin del (1802) exhibited at the Louvre. The first is a sketch exhibited in the Hall of the (Louvre, Denon room) and the other, with the contents like the previous but fully elaborated, can be called as finished. This highly theatrical composition is inspired by Racine before Thésée (Theseo in Catalan), Hippolyte (Hippolytus in Catalan) denies having heard any criminal passion for Phèdre (Fedra in Catalan). Oenone culminates by waving his mistress to silence the truth.
