Henri Cordier

Henri Cordier is a portrait of the orientalist sinologist Henri Cordier made by Gustave Caillebotte in 1883 and kept at the Musée d'Orsay since 1986.

This painting, which measures 65 cm high by 82 cm wide, was donated by Mrs Henri Cordier to the Musée du Luxembourg in 1927. In 1929 it was transferred to the Louvre Museum where it remained until 1947. It was then kept Jeu de Paume between 1947 and 1986.
