Diana and her nymphs, a painting by Jan Brueghel the Elder, dated 1625. 



The artwork depicts Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, and her nymphs in a wooded landscape. The scene is rich with detail, showing the nymphs bathing in a stream, while others attend to various tasks. Game hangs from a tree, suggesting a recent hunt. Dogs are present, some resting, others seemingly alert. The nymphs are depicted in various states of undress, some fully clothed, others partially or completely nude. The overall atmosphere is one of idyllic natural beauty, combined with the suggestion of a hunting party's aftermath.
