Beatrice is a work created in 1886 by Marie Spartali Stillman, a painter close to the circle of the pre-Raphaelites. It is made with a mixed technique of watercolor and gouache, which was already practiced by other painters related to the Brotherhood, [1] such as Edward Burne-Jones. This is a portrait of a character in Dante's Divine Comedy, Beatriz, who appears deep in thought while reading a book.
