The Raising of Lazarus

The Raising of Lazarus

1310 - Painting - 43cm x 46cm

The Resurrection of Lazarus is a painting by the painter Duccio di Buoninsegna, made in 1310, which is in the Kimbell Museum of Art in Fort Worth, United States. The painting was part of the predella of the altar of the Maestà, in Siena.

It depicts the resurrection made by Jesus Christ on Lazarus before the gaze of one of his sisters.

The work shows a curious dialogue between those attending the miracle, represented by the gestures and looks of the witnesses of the event. The landscape is made up of unnatural rocks, rather symbolic. [1]
