"Victim of bigotry" is among the most famous paintings by the Ukrainian artist Nikolay Pimonenko, painted in 1899.In the picture Pimonenko depicts the plot he read in the newspaper: the Jewish community lynched a girl who converted to Christianity. A cross appears on her neck. The girl's father and mother are on the right – the mother cries and the father raises his right hand, which symbolizes that he gives up his daughter.
The painting is stored in the Kharkiv Art Museum.
