A Woman and Two Children of a Fountain is a preparatory drawing for the painting The Poor at the Fountain by Francisco de Goya. The Aragonese painter used these two compositions for the Royal Tapestry Factory of Santa Barbara to produce tapestries for the royal apartments.
Goya's sketches were sold to the Dukes of Osuna in 1798, perhaps as a mark of recognition as customers. Years later, they were bought by the antique dealer Lafora and then by the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum collection.
