Singing flute player, a 1623 painting by Gerard van Honthorst, depicts a man, wearing a dark purple robe, a white ruffled collar, and a burgundy cap, seated in a window niche. He holds a flute to his lips and appears to be singing, his mouth open. His left hand is raised in a gesture that seems to accompany the music. He wears spectacles and his expression is one of intense concentration. A partially open book of music rests on the windowsill beside him. A red drapery hangs down from the window, partially obscuring the view. Part of a vine with leaves is visible in the upper right corner of the painting. The painting is 85.5 cm wide and 107.5 cm high and is part of the Staatliches Museum Schwerin collection.
