Criminal bath in Portoferraio

The Penal Bath in Portoferraio is a painting by the painter Telemaco Signorini. Painted between 1893 and 1894, it is one of the most famous works of the painter, but also one of the most scandalous and criticized.

Signorini painted a tablet entitled the prison of Portoferraio. Six years later, he reworked it in larger dimensions.
