Sininen ämpäri

Sininen ämpäri

1931 - Painting - 56cm x 69.5cm

The blue bucket is an oil painting for plywood by the Finnish expressionist painter Vilho Lamme (1898–1936) from 1931. The painting depicts a blue enamel bucket with buckets of scoops on a peasant chair. The painting measures approximately 69.5 × 56 cm and features everyday objects from Matinlauri, a home in Liminga, Lamme. The work belongs to the period between 1931 and 1936 in Lamme, which contains a lot of arrangements and personal subjects. It has seen links with Vincent van Gogh's famous chairwork on the one hand and Paul Cézanne on the other. In Rintala's novel, the pantry door visible in the painting opens up to the painter's own world of beauty, where everything is beautiful and from which beauty flows into the pirtti, where the bucket and chair are located. The painting is now part of kaleva's collections.
