Boy Jesus among the Doctors

Baby Jesus among the Doctors is an oil painting on wood painted by Cristóvão de Figueiredo about 1520-30 and which is currently in the National Museum of Ancient Art in Lisbon.

This painting was previously attributed to Gregory Lopes by José de Figueiredo.The painting represents the biblical episode narrated in the Gospel of St. Luke (Luke 2:41-51) in which Jesus, still a child, after the Feast of Easter, turned away from his parents, St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary, and went to the Temple where the doctors of the religious laws who asked him questions were marveling at Jesus' answers.
