The head of a woman is a portrait of a woman, made by Taras Shevchenko on paper in St. Petersburg in 1834. Size 11.6 × 9.1.

At the bottom left, the author's signature and date: Shevchenko 1834. On the back of the passpart ink the inscription: Picture of Taras Grigorevich Shevchenko (1814-1861).

In 1934, in the Gallery of Paintings by Taras Shevchenko in Kharkiv, this portrait was exhibited under the title "Women's Head" (Catalog, p. 14, No. 8). In literature, it is found under the name "Portrait of an Unknown Woman".

The portrait is stored in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko. Previous places of preservation: All-Ukrainian Historical Museum. T.G. Shevchenko, Gallery of paintings by Taras Shevchenko.
