
The Call of Minine (Minine on Nizhny Novgorod Square, calling on the people to make donations; russian: Воззвание Минина) is a painting on a historical-patriotic theme by the Russian painter Konstantin Makovsky, in 1896. It is presented for the first time to the public at the 16th All-Russia Industrial and Art Exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod. It was then offered to the city in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Romanovs. Until 1972, the painting was in the hall of the coat of arms of the Duma of the city of Nizhny Novgorod, then it was transferred to the Museum of Fine Arts in Nizhny Novgorod, where it can still be seen today. This work is the largest historical easel painting existing in Russia.
