nn The artist, Adolph Tidemand, was very clever with his colors. He used lots of browns and greens, like the earth and the hills. But he also used some warmer colors on the newer house, to make it stand out. It's like he's telling a story just with colors! Do you see the sky? It's partly cloudy, just like a day in the countryside. nn
nn There aren't any people in this painting. But can you imagine what it would have been like to live on this farm? What sounds do you think you would hear? What smells would you smell?
