The Red Roller Blind

The Red Roller Blind is an oil painting by Swedish artist Sigrid Hjertén from 1916. The painting has been part of Moderna Museet's collections since 1987 when it was donated by the artist's son Iván Grünewald and his daughters.

"The Red Roller Blind" has become one of Hjertén's most talked about paintings and is often interpreted as a self-portrait. Hjertén never showed this painting at exhibitions during his lifetime, perhaps it was too private.
