Cossack in the Steppe is an oil painting by the Polish painter Alfons Dunin-Borkowski from 1881-1886, located in the Gallery of Polish Art 1800-1945 of the Silesian Museum in Katowice.

The inspiration for the painting was the poetic novel Maria – Ukrainian Novel by Antoni Malczewski. During World War II, the painting was located in Kossakówka in Krakow. The painting measuring 72 × 53 cm is signed in the lower part of the work: A. Borkowski | Kraków 1881 (1886?). The Silesian Museum in Katowice purchased it in 2015 from a private owner with co-financing by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the "Collections" program. Museum inventory number: MŚK/SzM/971.
