Suprematism (supremus № 56)

Suprematism (supremus № 56) is a 1915 painting by Kazimir Malevich. This Suprematist work, housed in the Russian Museum, measures 0.71 meters in width and 8.05 meters in height. The painting is composed of geometric shapes—rectangles, squares, and a crescent—in various colors (red, yellow, black, blue, green, etc.) arranged on a light gray background. The shapes are positioned in a seemingly non-representational manner, overlapping and intersecting, with thin lines connecting some elements.
