The Savior Blessing and Stories of the True Cross

The Paliotto del Salvatore (Redeemer blessing among the symbols of the evangelists and stories of the True Cross) is a painting in tempera and gold on wood (98x198 cm) by the Master of Tressa, dated 1215 and preserved in the National Art Gallery of Siena. The date, present on the frame, makes it the oldest documented work of the Sienese school.
