Yalta

Yalta, a painting by Ivan Ayvazovsky, 1899. 



This artwork depicts a stormy seascape. The scene is dominated by a turbulent sea with large, frothy waves crashing onto a sandy beach in the foreground. In the background, a town nestled against dark, mountainous terrain is visible under a brooding, dark sky filled with heavy, grey clouds. Several small sailing vessels are seen battling the rough sea in the distance. The overall mood is one of dramatic intensity and power of nature. The painting measures 0.95 meters in width and 0.6 meters in height and is housed in the Tyumen Regional Museum of Fine Arts.
