View of Heroldsberg

View of Heroldsberg

1510 - Drawing

Hi everyone, my name is Isabella! Today, we're going to look at a really cool drawing. It's called "View of Heroldsberg." Can you say "Heroldsberg?" It's a funny word, isn't it? nn This drawing is super old. It was made by a really talented artist named Albrecht Dürer way back in 1510! That's over 500 years ago! Back then, there were no cameras, so artists like Dürer drew pictures to show what places looked like. nn What do you see in this picture? nn That's right! It's a village! See all the little houses with pointy roofs? That's Heroldsberg. And look, there's a big church in the middle. Dürer used special lines to make the houses and the church look like they're popping out of the paper. nn Let's pretend we're walking down this little path. Where do you think it goes? Maybe we'll meet someone from the village! nn This drawing is like a time machine. It shows us what life was like a long, long time ago. Isn't that cool? nn Now, let's go see what other treasures we can find in the museum!
