Improvisation No. 7 (Storm)

Improvisation No. 7 (Storm)

1910 - Painting - 48cm x 70cm

Hi everyone, my name is Isabella! Today, we're going to look at a very special painting called Improvisation No. 7 (Storm). It was painted by a really cool artist named Wassily Kandinsky a long, long time ago in 1910. nn Can you say "Wassily Kandinsky"? It's a bit of a tongue twister! nn Now, this painting is a little different. Instead of showing us a picture of a storm with rain and clouds, Kandinsky wanted to show us what a storm feels like. nn What do you think it feels like to be in a storm? Exciting? Scary? Maybe a little bit of both? nn Look closely at the painting. Do you see all those bright colors swirling around? We have fiery reds and oranges crashing into deep blues and greens, just like thunder and lightning in the sky! And look at those white streaks – they almost look like lightning bolts, don't they? nn Kandinsky believed that colors and shapes could make us feel different emotions. What do you feel when you look at this painting? Do you feel the energy of the storm?
