Composition with Cards

Composition with Cards, a 1915 painting by Olga Rozanova, is part of the collection of the Kovalenko Krasnodar Regional Art Museum.  Measuring 0.38 meters wide and 0.62 meters high, the artwork is a vibrant, abstract composition featuring geometric shapes and bold colors. The painting is dominated by overlapping planes of red, yellow, blue, white, black, and grey, creating a dynamic interplay of forms. The shapes suggest playing cards or fragments of cards, arranged in a seemingly random yet carefully considered manner.
