
Marie Stuart protesting her innocence at the reading of her death sentence is a painting painted by Francesco Hayez in 1832.
Between 2011 and 2012, it was kept at the Michel Descours gallery in Lyon. It was acquired by the Louvre Museum in 2012. In 2014, the painting was loaned to the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon as part of the exhibition L'invention du Passé. Stories of Heart and Sword 1802-1850.
