
The piety altarpiece is a Gothic table from the second half of the 15th century, by Jaume Cabrera. It was part of an altarpiece of Torroella de Montgrí destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. Wood table painted in tempera exhibited in room 8 of the Museu d'Art de Girona. The scene depicts the moment after Jesus' body was lowered, after being crucified. The author is Jaume Cabrera, also called the painter of the sixth anguish, according to the Marquis of Lozoya. This piece of the museum must have been part of a larger altarpiece, and was installed in the chapel of Santa Caterina of the church of Sant Genís until the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), known as the altarpiece of Dolores.
