St Luke painting the Virgin

Saint Luke painting Mary and Child was one of the first paintings by the Spanish painter Dominicus Theotocopulos, known as El Greco. Signed image:CHEIR DOMENIKOU.

The painting was created during the period when El Greco was in Crete. It is largely destroyed, but the painter's signature has been preserved: by Dominicus.
