Apparition of the Virgin of the Pilar

The appearance of the Virgen del Pilar is a work by Francisco de Goya, made in oil on panel, preserved in the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya in Barcelona by court order. The work belonged to Julio Muñoz Ramonet. In 1991, Muñoz Ramonet inherited the work, among others, in the city of Barcelona. After his daughters hid some of the most important works of art, including this and the el greco annunciation, and brought his father's will to court, the Supreme Court gave reason to the Barcelona City Council in 2012. Finally, on 29 June 2017, Greco was delivered together with the announcement of Greco to the MNAC in compliance with the ruling. Barcelona City Council announced that they would follow the lawsuit to recover the remaining 800 works.
