Apostle Saint Peter

Peter the Apostle is a painting by the Spanish painter Dominicus Theotocopulos, known as El Greco.

The portrait of St. Peter belonged to a cycle called Apostolados. El Greco undertook several times to paint a series of twelve portraits of saints and a portrait of the Savior. To this day, only two teams have survived in the set; one is located in the sacristy of the Cathedral of Toledo and the other in the Museo del Greco.
