Study of a Dead Horse

Hi everyone! My name is Isabella, and I'm so excited to explore this amazing painting with you all today! It's called "Study of a Dead Horse." nn Have you ever seen a horse up close? They're big and strong, aren't they? This painting shows a horse, but it's not moving or running like horses usually do. Can you tell why? nn --- nn That's right, the horse in this picture is sleeping a very, very deep sleep. The artist, Théodore Géricault, wanted to paint the horse just like it was sleeping. He used lots of brown colors to show the horse's soft fur. nn If you look closely, you can see how carefully he painted the horse's head and neck. It looks so real, doesn't it? nn --- nn Even though the horse is sleeping, the painting helps us remember how amazing and strong horses are.
