The Cicada

The Cicada (La Cigale) is a painting by the French painter Jules Joseph Lefebvre, made in 1872. The painting is now kept at the National Gallery of Victoria, In Melbourne. It is an allegorical painting based on the famous fable "The cicada and the ant".
