Landscape with river and dry boat in São Paulo "Ponte Grande" is a painting painted in oil on canvas, dated 1895, by the Italian-Brazilian painter Giovanni Castagneto, also known as João Batista Castagneto. The work, which is part of the collection of the Museum of Art of São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP), is 33 cm x 55 cm. Both the donation and the date of entry of the painting in the São Paulo museum are unknown. The original title of the painting, "Ponte Grande", extends to other similar works by Castagneto, all produced in the capital of São Paulo also in 1895, for the artist's second exhibition in the city, held in the concert hall of the Confectionery Paulicéia, between October 28 and November 7 of the same year. The sequence of paintings refers to a bridge on the edge of the Tietê River, still used as a leisure and transport route at the time, currently known as Ponte das Bandeiras.
