Self-portrait

Autoretrat is an oil painting by Pelegrí Clavé in 1835 that is currently on display at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya in Barcelona.

The earliest works by Pilgrim Clavé, such as this self-portrait, are still clearly romantic, but later he would practice a more academic portrait, which earned him great praise in Mexico, where he also painted landscapes and large compositions on religious the subject, such as the decoration of the dome of La Profesa, the old Jesuit church (1859-1860).
