
Annunciation is an oil painting on brown wood created in the period 1506-1511 by the painter Portuguese of the Renaissance Vasco Fernandes (c. 1475-1542) and which initially decorated the Mor Chapel of the See of Lamego, being currently in the Museum of Lamego. Tall at 173 cm and 92 cm wide, the work represents the biblical episode of the Annunciation.The Annunciation was one of the panels that constituted the Polyptych of the Main Chapel of the See of Lamego, created by Grand Vasco in the period 1506-1511 at the order of the bishop of Lamego D. João de Madureira (1503-1511). Due to works in the See of Lamego in the eighteenth century, the Polyptical was dismantled and dismembered, knowing currently only five panels, among them the Annunciation, which are in the Museum of Lamego.
